The daughter of British comedian Leslie Crowther and Caroline Crowther, the most famous person in her family, is Phil Lynott's ex-wife. British comedian Leslie Crowther's daughter Caroline was Lynott's bride on February 14, 1980.

She was Tony Brainsby's employee in the late '70s when they first crossed paths. They welcomed Sarah, who was born on December 19, 1978, the subject of the titular song written by Lynott in 1979, and Cathleen, who was born on July 30, 1980, the subject of the titular Lynott solo song written by Lynott in 1982, into the world. The marriage ended in 1984 due to Lynott's increasing drug addiction.

She had a son named Macdaragh Lambe who was born in 1968 and placed for adoption. In 2003, Lambe found out that Lynott was his biological father, and in July 2010, Philomena Lynott verified this in an interview with a newspaper.
